GOOD THING Release Debut Single 'Love Like That'

When Lisburn native, Susy Good was forced to move home from Sydney Australia earlier this year due to the pandemic, she called upon the creative input of singer/songwriter and close friend, Jon Wilson. The pair started out on their collaborative journey with a ‘just for fun’ attitude however, their modest expectations quickly turned to a creativity and sound that amazed them both, the result is GOOD THING.

The POP duo have known each other for five years becoming friends through performing locally and this week they launch their first track ‘Love Like That’, incorporating bright synths with sweet vocals.

The pair deployed a collaborative approach to making their debut track, opting to work remotely through lockdown with Jon’s 4 chords’ keyboard demo and Suzy’s melodic lyrics, all done through Facetime, making for the perfect musical combination. The two were eventually able to get together when lockdown lifted and record some demos for the song in Jon’s living room with one mic, a small keyboard and a lot of garage band magic.

Speaking about the debut single, Susy said: “This song is about realising the person you’re in a relationship with has stopped trying and moved on - an anthem for anyone who has been let down by someone they loved and is trying to get over it.

“We created a nostalgic 80’s/90’s sound to reminisce love come and gone, by using bright synths and cruisey rhythmic drumbeats.

“Our track is fun and full of loud and beautiful sounds to contrast the heartbreak behind it, creating a space for the heartbroken to dance away their disappointment.”

Jon and Susy continue to write and produce under current health guidelines and are looking forward to the day when GOOD THING perform live to prove that good things do come out of bad situations.
